Meet the Instructors

J.R. Martinson, Golf Pro

J.R. Grew up in Sun River, Montana & went to Simms High School. He started playing golf at age 14 & moved to Phoenix, AZ to attend the Golf Academy of America. Martinson Graduated in 2000 with degree in Applied Business & his first position as Assistant Golf Pro was at Fiddlesticks Golf in Tempe, AZ. In 2004, Promoted to Director of Golf. Taught Private, Group and clinics for the next 8 years. Dicks Sporting Goods Golf Pro/ certified fitter for the next 8 years. J.R. is also certified on Ping, Callaway, and Taylor Made.

John Warren, PGA

Raised in Montana, John attended the University of Mont. on a golf scholarship graduating with a BS degree in Business and Sociology. He spent the next 20 years in the US Army both active duty and reserve, retiring as a Lieutenant Col. He is currently a proud father and grandfather with 2 sons and 6 grandchildren! At age 50, John turned Golf Professional, completed an extensive 3 yr. course and became a Class A Member of the Professional Golfers Association of America. Since then, he played on the National Sr. Tour and many PGA events in the PACIFIC NW Chapter. John has started and conducted Golf schools in Portland Or.. (1997-2004), Orlando, Fl. (2004 - 2010) and Great Falls Mt.. (2010-present).  He also taught for two summers (2005 & 2006) at Maine Golf and Tennis Academy, rated #1 Academy for juniors 9 - 15 in the US by Sports Illustrated Magazine for 5 consecutive years (2001-2006). He has completed Master Club Fitters schools with both Henry-Griffiths and Titleist and now has over 40 years of teaching experience.
